(but make sure you book)
A free, traditional Christmas Day lunch for anyone who would otherwise be spending the day on their own.
You don't need to live in Wivelsfield. Come alone, or bring a friend.
The Wivelsfield Community Christmas Lunch was a much-loved local tradition for years. In 2025 we brought it back — a joyful, welcoming table for anyone in the area who would otherwise be spending Christmas Day by themselves.
Whether you've lost someone, live far from family, or simply fancy good company this year, there's a seat for you. It's entirely free, staffed by volunteers, and made possible by generous local sponsors.
A full traditional Christmas lunch is served from midday, followed by festive entertainment.

Christmas Day itself — Friday 25 December 2026 — doors open at 11:30am at Wivelsfield Village Hall, Eastern Road, Wivelsfield Green, RH17 7QG.
Anyone who'd otherwise be spending Christmas alone, or who just fancies a day away from their normal circumstances. That's genuinely it — no catch, no small print.
Nothing. It's entirely free, thanks to some very lovely volunteers, sponsors and donors doing the paying for you.
Of course. We'll do our very best to look after everyone — just let us know when you book, so we can plan for it.
We may be able to arrange transport — please choose the appropriate option on the booking form, and we'll let you know if that can be accommodated.
The village hall is well served by local taxi companies. Booking well in advance is advisable because of the time of year. If you can get a friend or relative to bring you along, there is plenty of parking available.
Sorry — only service dogs are allowed in the village hall.
Yes! Really and truly, yes. Unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate anyone without a free, pre-booked ticket — so don't just turn up on the day.
No problem at all — email wivelsfieldxmas@gmail.com or call 01444 226 234 and we'll sort you out.
Thank you! You can support us via our Crowdfunder page — every bit helps us welcome more people to the table.
Still stuck? We promise a human (probably Dave or Emma) will answer.
